Day 18 of 40: People. Purpose. Passion.

Today is Day 18 of 40.

What if we did this for today?  But what if we did it for 40 days?!

{If you’ve heard my rant about this then scroll passed this to today’s account below the (*******) line}

Our goal for 40 days is to strengthen and nourish our spirit, soul and body.  Sounds so sophisticated and a little boring to me…  but what if it got kind of specific…  and…  what if it kind of worked?!!?

We create (Do you need the definition too?  Because I did!  So I looked it up for us!)

create:  (verb)  cause (something) to happen as a result of one’s actions

This drives me to become aware of what I am actually creating.  I’m REEEAAALLY good at creating a grumpy attitude, a negative outlook on life, an overwhelming feeling, 30 extra pounds, irrational thinking….  I am just one talented woman.  You too?  {Big sigh}

But what if we became more intentional about what we were creating each day?!

What if we did these three things each day?!

  1. Create conversations with God by talking to Him (prayer) and/or studying the Bible.
  2. Create smiles, memories, feelings, giggles, and moments with people by taking the time to stop and be in the moment.
  3. Create fuel for our body with the foods we choose.

For my own life, I notice that I start going into a spiral of the “blues” then slowly but surely off track when I start hiding from God, from people and hiding IN my pantry….  {Anyone else do that too?!}

Today’s Life with Jamye

Day 18 of 40.

Today was a long day but full of family, family and more family (our immediate family, that is)…  such a sweet and filling day for me.

1. {Spirit}

I woke up at 4:15 a.m. to feed Benjamin then couldn’t go back to sleep.  I stayed awake and got to spend some time with God.  I read in the book of Exodus and spent time dreaming with God.  It started with these interesting “thoughts”…  Knowing how God likes to speak to me, personally, I decided to catch those “thoughts” and write them down.  Soon enough I was flooded with a purpose, passion and people group.  It felt good.  So good in fact.

Later that morning I got to sit down with Robert and sip coffee together and chat about what I was hearing from God.  We enjoyed that time together…dreaming together and seeing what God might have.  This is such a sweet spot for our marriage.  I delight in these moments together.

2. {Soul-Mind, Will, & Emotions}

Today was a day spent with my favorites.

Robert.

Emma.

Shyloh.

Benjamin.

My goodness how blessed my heart was today.  Robert took the girls to “run errands” today (which as Shyloh usually discloses all secrets, I knew they were preparing Mother’s Day plans for me…heee heee…)  My heart was already filled just by the thought that they were spending the time preparing a heart full of love for me.

I got to spend alone time with Benjamin’s coos and giggles.  I cleaned the house, did laundry, and stayed in my own brain without having to answer questions, hold a reasonable conversation with a little one, nor break up altercations.  It was a nice mental break.

Benjamin hanging out with Chubbs… Chubbs isn’t too into it though.

DATE NIGHT

Then this evening we had a impromptu date night!  My parents watched all three kiddos (making home made pancakes, taking a walk to count bunnies, and play the piano)… Robert and I took advantage of those two hours and enjoyed a night together!

We went to a place called Mendocino Farms.  I decided to plan the evening for us and all without any assistance from Yelp itself.  Big win!

How did I do it?!  I thought about the atmosphere I enjoy…  the city, location, etc that I was familiar with.  I googled it.  Expanded it.  Then searched for new places that I’d never noticed before.

This place sparked my interest!

Then finding the story behind this place brought the plates to life.  It wasn’t just a chain restaurant or a money making machine.  There was a heartbeat in this soup and sandwich eatery.

The wall says “PEOPLE. PURPOSE. PASSION.”

Then it states “EAT HAPPY”…  hahaha… do they know ME or what?!  YES Please!  Eating happy, every. single. time! 😉

Ummmm….sold!  You too?!

We entered the eatery and I couldn’t help but paparazzi the entire place.  Yes, I was that awkward person in the place.  But seriously.  I couldn’t help myself!

Take a look at our night….  our foods….  and this atmosphere…

Seriously, after this experience I felt like maybe I should become a food blogger.  Then I realized, that’s probably not  a good idea!  ha!

Then onto SunLife Organics for a little Acai Cacao Nib Fresh Strawberry and Goji berry bowl!  This place too!  Look at the wall.  The story of how this place came into being is simply inspiring.  The owner is a former homeless drug addict…  you must check out his inspiring story to health and wealth.  INSPIRING!

Loved this atmosphere too!

3. {Body}

What a great day!  I even tracked my food!  This evening’s food as fuel was pretty on point {pssst….I think that’s the saying; however, I’m not all that certain! ;)}

4:30 a.m. Coffee after feeding Benjamin

7:30 orange

10:00 3 egg white, 1 egg omelet, mozzarella cheese with individual guacamole, non-fat plain greek yogurt and salsa

11:30 Yep, 1 Butterscotch See’s candy 🙂

2:30 lean ground turkey and mixed veggies

6:15 1/2 sandwich & 1/3 salad

7:15 SunLife Organics 2 scoops Acai, fresh strawberries, cacao nibs, gogi berries (super super big YUM!)
